Labor Rank&File-Unrepresentative Swill

Gough Whitlam or Tom Uren would never have thought that ALP rank and file would feel like they are nothing but a group to be trotted out now and then for promotional purposes.

But there you have it,people do feel like that especially since the first ever vote for LOTO

Kevin Rudd who led Labor out of 12 years in the wilderness when our Party kept putting it`s right faction picks upfront then as PM was demolished by theses same people [faceless men] he called them

Yet Kevin Rudd gave Australia social projects second only to Gough Whitlam and was the first world leader to recognize the severity of the GFC then also accordingly as a global leader in keeping Australia out of recession and setting up direct stimulus to people and not bankers.

Global praise for him is well known but not here in Australia as the Murdoch led MSM rewrite history according to the IPA`s political arm the LNP

What I`m writing of here is not how the Labor right faction killed two PM`s but how Kevin Rudd in his second Prime Ministership set up Rudd`s Rule as a deal for his return to stand again and save some Labor furniture

One rule may have already come back to bite him [and us R&F] in that it makes it much harder to change the Party Leader because 60% of the Caucus has to agree for there be a spill vote.

Two more basically simple rules were agreed to by the factions

One rule was to give a 50% Caucus&Rank and File vote to for LOTO

Another was that Rank and File have a say in picking 50% of Senate candidates

We know what happened in the vote for LOTO where supposedly 60% of R&F picked Anthony Albanese ahead of Bill Shorten and were done in by Caucus along with very dodgy numericals concerning the TWU being just one transgressor.

I have no idea who represented the R&F

I have no Idea if there was an R&F scrutineer

I have no idea who represents me as a R&F member of Labor

This is one thing Grey Power Labor would like to see addressed,someone from OUR Rank and File who represents us

We certainly can`t have those who actuated the LOTO count represent us.

Bill Shorten gave a magnificent speech about reform here [similar to John Faulkner`s Revesby address] at the NSW State Conference but we saw none of this at the National Conference

As we go further along the Grey Power Labor journey we`ll dissect much so as not to repeat ourselves and to update those wishing to learn more also there are experienced people who`ll explain factions within Labor

Labor is a huge family and as such we all want and deserve full and proper representation and for promises to be kept

The party that created Australia`s first female Prime Minister needs to listen to it`s elder members so the mistakes of the recent past are not repeated because the power mongers have come close to destroying Labor and we saw in QLD how a whole State deserted Labor when Rudd was usurped and the resulting 2010 election almost totally destroy Labor in QLD.

We then saw rising like a Pheonix the talented and hard working Annastacia Palaszczuk lifting Labor up again from a position where only 7 members were returned in Blighs debacle then having two more added in byelections

We here at Grey Power Labor hope many of you who feel similar will join us in bringing not only ideas forward but to help us enforce Rudd`s Rule and begin the reform process that John Faulkner`s vision so clearly points out.

Julia Gillard as Australia`s first female Prime Minister was the shining light of the nightmare brought about by factional in fighting only to see her usurped in return

All us Labor supporters were gutted,whether by Rudd`s demise or Gillards or both,we all felt screwed by idiocy-flogged by factions-done in by dunces,who in their ridiculessness gave us Tony Abbott on Rupert Murdoch`s plate
